Start strong with JACOB as your partner

Battery cell manufacturing is booming and set for growth – ideal conditions for you and your specific project in the gigafactory. Your process is defined. The requirements are clear. But one question still remains: “Will my solution, including the exhaust air system, work safely and reliably in a real production environment?”

Certainty matters. So does choosing the right partner. That is why, in cooperation with Fraunhofer FFB, we tested the use of our pipework systems under real process conditions in battery cell manufacturing. Proven safe. Proven reliable. Ready to support your next gigafactory project with confidence.

Exhaust and recirculated air put to the test

Trust is good; verified quality is better. That is why we subjected our pipework systems to rigorous testing under real operating conditions at Fraunhofer FFB’s open research factory, FFB PreFab.

Our systems transport exhaust and recirculated air throughout the entire battery cell manufacturing process chain – from electrode manufacturing and cell assembly through to finishing. The assessment focused in particular on cell assembly as a critical area where combustible dusts and gases may be generated. This is precisely where safe and controlled extraction matters – as the basis for stable processes and occupational safety in production.

Keeping limit values in view

Ultimately, the evaluation focused on one fundamental question: Does airborne exposure remain within safe and permissible limits? To answer this, Fraunhofer FFB conducted a comprehensive assessment under real production conditions as part of the Application Brief.

The basis for this assessment consisted of four parameters:

  • Contaminant concentration
  • Flow velocity
  • Leakage behavior
  • Air circulation at the workplace

The result: Safe! When designed in accordance with standards, the JACOB pipework system can be operated in a way that complies with the legal limit values under TRGS 900/910. For you, that means an exhaust air solution with reliable evidence – one you can safely base your planning and operation on.

Many process steps. One proven system.

The analysis shows: Wherever exhaust and recirculated air are transported by low-pressure conveying in battery cell manufacturing, our pipework systems can be used safely.

Exhaust air piping you can rely on

  • Leak tightness in low-pressure conveying
  • Compliance with occupational exposure limits
  • Suitable for clean rooms and dry rooms
  • Scalable as volume flows increase
  • Design in accordance with standards
